November 9, 1989–The Berlin Wall Comes Down

I’m going out on a limb here. We started this project to share our absolute love of all things history. I’ve been writing about things I know, things that resonate with me, things about which I have a lot to say….

As I prepared to conclude for today, and started into my research for tomorrow–I saw an event that I couldn’t let go.

On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall came down.

The reason I say “out on a limb” here is….well, truth be told…I know almost nothing about this. I don’t know the surrounding events. I don’t know the resentments and the social and cultural impacts of the wall. Therefore, I don’t know the effect that the wall coming down had.

I just don’t know. I don’t have insights or feelings or profundities to share.

I need to learn. It has to be done.
